Successful installation of ShibataFenderTeam fenders for LNG Terminal in Malta

In Delimara, Malta, ShibataFenderTeam recently delivered 3 sets of SPC 1800 Fender Systems that were successfully installed at the Regas LNG Plant. Our task was the design of fender systems for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import and re-gasification facility based on a floating LNG storage vessel.

The project had some important limitations which we solved with a customized fender design. The need for low hull pressure was achieved with big steel panels and the minimal standoff distance was overcome with two steel spacers.
