SFT has equipped West Java FSRU Terminal in Indonesia with Ocean Guard Fenders

Back in 2012, the SFT Group has supplied floating fender systems for the Golar FSRU Nusantara Regas Satu Terminal, located a few kilometers offshore of Jakarta, Indonesia. The terminal is operated by PT Nusantara Regas, a joint venture between the Indonesian companies Pertamina and Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN). It receives LNG from offloading LNG carriers through a regasification systems delivered by the Finnish company Wärtsilä. The FSRU is permanently moored to 4 dolphins which are equipped with our foam filled fenders.   

In total, we delivered 4 sets of Ocean Guard Fender Systems with an outer diameter of 3300 mm and a length of 6500 mm. We received the order in July 2011 and all fender systems were installed in cooperation with our client and the contractor of this project, BAM, back in early 2012 and have been in service since. Terminal operator Golar Management Norway confirmed ‘Although being exposed 24/7 to waves, wind, sun, and salt water at our offshore terminal without major maintenance, all fenders are still in good condition.’ 

 In 2019, our colleague Thore Kollmorgen visited the terminal and conducted an on-site inspection together with Golar LNG and P.T. Suprabakti Mandiri personnel. All necessary maintenance works have been done on the 8-year-old fender systems, so they will continue to work proper for the next decade.        

A long-lasting business relationship between Golar and SFT offers a great base to jointly create new infrastructure for a secure and sustainable environment. Supporting this expansion project in Indonesia was a great pleasure for SFT. (#1194)
