Milestone: First SFT Cone Fenders installed in Norvik, Sweden

Stockholm Hamn´s latest major development project, Norvik Hamn, is shaping up.

As part of our long term contract with Stockholm Harbour, we have delivered fenders for the new port in Norvik, located south of Stockholm. The new port will ensure the efficient supply of goods to one of Europe’s fastest growing capital cities, Stockholm.

Being built for rolling goods and container traffic, the construction work took into consideration the needs of modern ships such as deeper draughts, longer quays, larger terminal areas and easy connection to the hinterland.

The first fenders are now installed at the Hutchison Ports Norvik Terminal, being SPC 1200 Cone Fenders in whose design the port has gone at lengths. In cooperation with our designers it was taken care that the system delivers what it is expected to do, under all conditions and with a clear focus on a holistic fender design. All steps of fender design go hand in hand and influence each other. This fact emphasizes the need for an experienced manufacturer to ensure reliable, safe and efficient operations of ports.
