30 m long Fender Guidewall supplied for ferry terminal in Galtby

The ferry terminal in Galtby, Finland, on the island Korpo is located in the Åland archipelago south of Turku. Galtby is an important port for the ferries connecting the island Korpo with other islands and mainland Finland.

In the process of a reconstruction the port ordered a 30 m long guidewall from ShibataFenderTeam. The guidewall consists of 3 pieces, each is 10 m long. The straight sections are connected with each other and fitted with UHMW-PE low friction face pads. All parts were made in Germany. 

Together with a separate corner section, the guidewall forms a continuous berthing array. The guidewall sections are equipped with 16 ShibataFenderTeam´s CSS 500 Cell Fenders which absorb the kinetic energy of the berthing vessels.
